UK Funds Waste-Heat Heating Networks

The UK government is investing £90 million ($119 million) in heat networks that redirect excess heat from datacenters and factories to warm homes. Over 750,000 homes are expected to benefit, including a £41 million project to pipe hot water under the Thames to 650,000 London homes. Initial transport by electric barges starts in 2028, with tunnels planned for the 2030s.
