Microsoft warns that September 2026 Windows 11 security updates break Always On VPN connections, leaving them stuck in a Connecting state or showing a port already in use error. The bug hits when profiles use automatic protocol selection with IKEv2 and SSTP. Microsoft is working on a permanent fix and tells IT admins to switch to a single protocol as a workaround.
