Apple's upcoming smart home camera, known internally as J450, will reportedly not record video. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the device uses AI, facial recognition and infrared sensors to identify people and pets and trigger automations, rather than offering a footage library. It is expected after the HomePad launch, with Apple's broader home security push pointed to 2027.
