Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5 with performance close to Opus 4.8 at lower prices. The model is less capable at cyber tasks than Mythos 5, enabling release without US government blocking. The new tokenizer costs roughly 1.4x more for English and 1.28x more for Python code.
