New Zealand Advances First LNG Import Plant

New Zealand will build its first liquefied natural gas import facility despite global gas price surges from the Iran war. Energy Minister Simeon Brown said the plant is the fastest dry-year backup for the hydro-dependent nation. The government shortlisted two providers and expects the plant online by 2027 or early 2028.
