Juice spacecraft snaps Earth and moon

The European Space Agency's Jupiter-bound Juice probe flew within 5,370 miles of Earth on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, using the gravity assist to bend its path 20 degrees and gain about 7,800 mph. Cameras captured Africa, Madagascar and the moon while testing navigation methods for Jupiter's icy moons.
