A University of California, Riverside study suggests Venus slowly pulled in and swallowed its moon through gravity and its 243-day rotation, rather than losing it to a collision. Simulations showed the moon spiraled inward and broke apart under many conditions, offering a new factor for assessing exoplanet habitability.
