Kenya probes hack of Ruto's website after bitcoin ransom

Kenyan authorities are investigating a cyberattack that defaced President William Ruto's official website, president.go.ke, replacing the homepage with a ransom message demanding five bitcoins (about $317,000). The government took the site offline Saturday and restored it by Sunday, stating no sensitive data was compromised. The National Computer and Cybercrime Coordination Committee (NC4) is leading the response.
