Russian banking app tops US App Store chart

A disguised Russian banking app called Cириус surged to the third most popular free iPhone app in the U.S. App Store. The app, presented as a Pomodoro timer productivity tool, is actually a client for sanctioned Russian financial institution VTB Bank. Activity on Telegram indicates the app uses shell developer accounts to bypass Apple's ban on sanctioned entities. The app will likely be pulled soon.
