Ford has fired up a prototype of its 5.4-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8 for the LMDh hypercar it will race in the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship. The engine, developed entirely in-house at Ford's Michigan base, was tested at Oreca's facility. The car uses an Oreca chassis and a spec hybrid system. Drivers include Sebastian Priaulx, Mike Rockenfeller, and Logan Sargeant.
