NPCI: GST on UPI MDR Won't Burden Small Merchants

NPCI said GST on UPI merchant discount rate will not burden small merchants. Transactions under two thousand rupees carry zero MDR and no GST, covering over ninety-six percent of merchant transactions. Merchants can offset GST paid on MDR against tax liability, and those receiving under one lakh rupees monthly are exempt from MDR.
