OpenAI's 'Project Lily' hires hundreds of contractors to manually review anonymized ChatGPT transcripts. Reviewers, called 'prompt reviewers,' judge response quality, checking for AI-speak, patronizing tones, and sycophancy. The process reportedly pays over $50 an hour. OpenAI admitted the anonymization filter may let personal data through, especially in shorter chats, and that a 'user memories summary' is included.
