Apple Hit With $5.7B Taptic Engine Verdict

A US jury ruled Friday that Apple must pay $5.7 billion to Taction Technology for infringing two patents covering haptic vibration technology used in the Taptic Engine. Taction sued in 2021. Apple disputes the verdict, says its technology is fundamentally different, and will appeal. The Taptic Engine debuted in Apple Watch in 2014 and reached iPhone.
