NSE Says No AI Market Surveillance Tools Exist

At Global Fintech Fest 2026, NSE Executive Director Sanjay Shorey stated that while AI has potential for live market surveillance, no such tools currently exist in the market. He noted AI is already used for post-market investigations. SEBI Executive Director Aliasgar Mithwani confirmed the regulator is starting to use AI for investigation and surveillance, but emphasized it must assist, not lead, human intellect.
