Former French digital minister Cédric O has launched Mallow, a screenless AI speaker for children aged 4 to 10, after raising 11 million euros from investors including Balderton Capital, Daphni and Motier Ventures. The device uses figurines to trigger voice-based games and quizzes, drawing on Mistral AI technology. It costs about 120 euros and is sold in France, with US expansion planned by late next year.
