Gigil enters Oxford English Dictionary

The Oxford English Dictionary added gigil in March 2025, a Tagalog word for the urge to squeeze something unbearably cute. Yale researchers named the response "cute aggression" in 2012, and a 2018 UC Riverside study found a neural basis for it.
