IMEC ferroelectric memory nears DRAM and NAND replacement

IMEC published two studies using ferroelectric materials to create capacitors that replicate modern DRAM functionality. The research aims to provide cheaper, more scalable memory alternatives for AI data centers, which consumed nearly 70% of all memory produced in 2026, causing the worst supply crunch in 15 years.
