BioCompute Cuts DNA Data Storage Write Cost

BioCompute, a Berkeley deep-tech startup, has demonstrated writing data to DNA at $1 per megabyte by marking reusable templates instead of synthesizing new strands. The company is building a full-stack device pairing enzymatic writes with licensed nanopore reads, targeting $1 per terabyte. Founder Anagha Rajesh left an Oxford gene therapy PhD to scale the approach beyond cold storage.
