US charges prisoner over Kraken crypto laundering

US prosecutors charged Rossen Iossifov, a Bulgarian national already serving a federal prison sentence, with laundering $290,000 in forfeited crypto from a Kraken account. The Department of Justice alleges Iossifov conspired in January 2024 to move the assets through mixing services and exchanges before the US could seize them. The charges carry a maximum 25-year penalty.
