AI Agents Assist Model Development, Humans Decide

Researchers at Fudan University studied their own project building Atria Dawn Preview, a 744 billion parameter model. AI was used in 96.5 percent of tasks, but humans made 85.5 percent of method decisions and 93.4 percent of goal decisions. A third of AI-assisted tasks were rated infeasible without AI, showing AI enables new work rather than just speeding it up.
