Gemini app replacing Gems with skills

Google will migrate Gemini's custom Gems to skills starting Nov 17, 2026, according to a notice in the Gems manager. Skills, introduced with Gemini Spark, offer the same custom instructions but are invoked with a slash and can run simultaneously. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can create skills now via the Gemini Spark tab.
