George Washington Carver helped Henry Ford develop soybean-based plastic car bodies, leading to the 1941 Soybean Car with 14 plastic panels. World War II halted auto production, so the car never reached production. Fiberglass successors included the Glasspar G2 and 1953 Corvette.
