A Tesla valve exhaust on a Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart made 142 horsepower versus 146 stock, and reversed flow dropped output to 134 hp. The no-moving-parts valve, patented in 1920, cut noise but raised back pressure and heat, proving poor for exhaust use.
