Cloudflare Adds Quantum Downgrade Protection to IPsec

Cloudflare worked with the IETF to develop a downgrade protection extension for IPsec, now in beta across Cloudflare WAN and Magic Transit. The flaw lets a quantum attacker decrypt traffic between post-quantum-capable endpoints by impersonating a party that lacks PQ support. Cloudflare moved its post-quantum transition deadline to 2029 as attack cost estimates fall.
