Heart X1 completes first electric flight

Heart Aerospace's X1 demonstrator completed its maiden flight on August 12 at Plattsburgh International Airport, becoming the largest battery-electric aircraft ever flown. The 27-minute piloted flight used roughly $5 of electricity and climbed to 1,100 feet. The X1 weighs over 25,000 pounds at takeoff.
