Windows 11 update forces black desktop backgrounds

Microsoft's August update preview turns some Windows 11 desktops black on 24H2 and 25H2, blocking personalization settings from loading. Users cannot restore preferred backgrounds or slideshow settings. Microsoft is working on a resolution in a future Windows update.
