Hidden texting flaw patched after UC San Diego fix

A security vulnerability that let attackers spoof identities in smartphone text conversations has been fixed. Researchers at UC San Diego discovered the flaw, which affected Android and Apple phones and carriers including Verizon, T-Mobile, and Google Fi. The team worked with companies to develop mitigations.
