Pluto and Titan Share Mystery Molecule

Researchers spotted a missing spectral band at the 5.11-micrometer line on Pluto and Titan. The absorption line is three times thicker on Pluto. The unknown molecule has no match in existing datasets. A paper has been accepted for Astronomy & Astrophysics. The James Webb Space Telescope provided the data.
