Ctrl+Alt+Delete began as an IBM PC developer reboot tool, created by engineer David Bradley. Microsoft later adopted it for Windows NT's Secure Attention Sequence. Bill Gates called the choice a mistake, saying IBM should have made a dedicated key, but Microsoft never replaced it.
