Take-Two ex-AI boss warns generative AI hype is harmful

Dr Luke Dicken, former head of Take-Two's AI team, said generative AI hype is "poisoning the well" and could discourage future use of traditional AI. Take-Two laid off the entire AI team in April, despite most members working on non-generative AI since 2019. Dicken called for a broader view of AI beyond generative models.
