NASA Detects Intense Heat Beneath Io

NASA's Juno mission measured subsurface temperatures on Jupiter's moon Io for the first time. The Microwave Radiometer found heat rising more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit just feet below the surface, far exceeding solar heating alone.
