Geely unveiled an ultra-fast charging system on Wednesday with peak output of 2.25 megawatts, charging an EV from 10% to 70% in 4.5 minutes. BYD and Li Auto are pursuing similar megawatt-level technology, roughly halving Tesla Supercharger times. The race aims to ease range anxiety in China's slowing EV market, but risks battery degradation and grid strain.
