McKinsey Global Institute analysis out Tuesday estimates roughly 11 million American workers, about 7% of the labor force, may need to change occupations over the next decade as AI reshapes the economy. That is about 770,000 workers a year, versus a long-run average of 215,000, a transition three to four times faster than historical norms.
