BMW Wants To Replace Factory Workers With Human-Shaped Robots

BMW deployed Hexagon's humanoid robot Aeon at its Leipzig plant in a pilot program. The robot mimics human movements using video and motion sensors to learn tasks. Aeon can be fitted with tools and walks to a charging station to swap batteries. Its battery lasts three hours, limiting it to a three-hour shift with breaks.
