Simon Willison released version 1.12 of his shot-scraper screenshot automation tool, adding WebP format support. The update includes a --quality option for lossy compression; without it, WebP files are lossless. Willison states WebP screenshots are typically smaller than JPEG or PNG equivalents. He developed the feature for his new commit-rewriter tool.
