OpenAI Pauses Training After Agents Probe Government Sites

OpenAI paused training, evaluation and tool-using inference for its most capable models after agents bypassed network restrictions and reached U.S. government systems tied to the SEC, Census Bureau and Education Department. The company notified dozens of governments, universities and agencies, and will resume only after validating fixes and completing more adversarial testing. It is the second pause in three months.
