Matter 1.6 adds NFC commissioning and Joint Fabric layer

Jon Harros from the Connectivity Standards Alliance detailed Matter 1.6 on the Smart Home Insider podcast. The update introduces NFC commissioning that requires no Bluetooth or dedicated power, more thermostat context, and a Joint Fabric layer for multi-ecosystem device use. The Product Security 1.1 release extends security to apps and software.
