Netherlands Picks Groningen Site for AI Supercomputer

SURF will install the Netherlands' national AI supercomputer at Eurofiber's data center on Groningen's Zernike Campus, with installation in 2027 and full operation by early 2028. The €201 million project draws €71 million from EuroHPC JU, €70 million from the Dutch government and €60 million from Nij Begun. Rising hardware costs threaten the €64 million computer budget.
