Microsoft Hacked to Deliver Malware to Claude and Gemini Users

Microsoft disabled 73 GitHub repositories after hackers planted malware in AI coding tools like Claude Code and Gemini CLI to steal credentials. The sweep covered Azure, Durable Task, and AI sample repos. Researchers from StepSecurity linked the closures to a malicious commit pushed to the durabletask repository.
