Anthropic accused Alibaba's Qwen lab of using nearly 25,000 fake accounts for about 29 million Claude exchanges between April and June, targeting software engineering and agentic reasoning. The campaign exceeded the combined volume of three earlier distillation efforts by Chinese AI startups DeepSeek, MiniMax, and Moonshot AI.
