India Warns on Overseas Job Trafficking

India's Home Ministry warned states of a dangerous trend where overseas recruitment scams lure people with high-paying jobs and trap them in CyberFraud Centres. It ordered mandatory verification of recruitment agencies, monitoring of social media and job portals, and stronger Anti-Human Trafficking Units. Agencies without a Protector of Emigrants licence must be shut down and prosecuted under aggravated trafficking provisions.
