Global smartphone output fell 1.7% in Q1 2026

TrendForce reports 284 million smartphones were produced globally in Q1 2026, a 1.7% decline year-over-year. The full-year forecast predicts 1.051 billion units, a 16.2% drop, with worsening conditions if memory prices stay elevated. Samsung led with 62.6 million units, Apple followed with 60.2 million.
