UPI Merchants Protest New MDR Fees

From October 15, merchants will pay a merchant discount rate on certain UPI payments above Rs 2,000, with rates ranging from 0.4% to a flat Rs 5. AIMRA has called a No UPI Day on October 2, covering QR codes with black cloth, joined by five other trade bodies. The government set the rates after amending the law in August.
