India Mandates Quality Norms for Screen Protectors

India will require smartphone screen protectors to meet mandatory Indian standards from April 1, 2027, with compliance registration due by March 31, 2027. Electronics Secretary S Krishnan said domestic capacity is sufficient and warned against substandard imports undercutting local makers. Optiemus Infracom and Corning have partnered on a Noida facility to add capacity.
