Ford produced the Mustang Boss 351 for only the 1971 model year. Safety and emissions regulations, rising insurance rates, and Ford's withdrawal from NASCAR and Trans Am racing ended the muscle car. The 351-cubic-inch V8 produced 330 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. Only 1,806 examples were built.
