U.S.-based robotics company Figure decommissioned its older F.02 AI robot fleet by melting them in a 75-ton furnace of molten steel. This extreme disposal method was chosen because disassembling the units was difficult, and the proprietary technology required careful handling, while the newer F.03 models are scaling up.
