Red States Lead U.S. Solar Power Growth

A Solar Energy Industries Association report found that eight of the top ten states for new solar construction in the first half of 2026 voted for Donald Trump. The U.S. added over 11 gigawatts of solar power in Q2 2026, a 45% year-over-year increase, with Trump-supporting states accounting for nearly three-fourths of that growth. Texas ranked first, followed by Florida in third.
