Newcastle spinout Advanced Electric Machines secures £16m

Advanced Electric Machines (AEM) secured £16m in equity and loan funding to scale production and develop its next-generation high-torque motor platform. The Newcastle University spinout, led by CEO Dr James Widmer and CTO Dr Andy Steven, makes rare earth and magnet-free electric motors for commercial vehicles, passenger cars, motorcycles, and maritime applications.
