SteamOS lets users build their own console

Valve released SteamOS 3.8 with broader hardware support, allowing users to install the operating system on desktop PCs. The Steam Machine starts at $1,049. SteamOS works with AMD integrated and discrete GPUs, but Nvidia support is still in development. A user successfully installed it on a Minisforum AI X1 Pro with an AMD Ryzen AI HX 370.
