Putting sign language AI into users' hands

Google DeepMind launched SL2T, a multilingual sign-language-to-text model powering sign-to-text dictation in Gboard and Live Transcribe on Pixel 11, starting with American Sign Language to English. Trained on over 100,000 hours across 50+ languages, it achieved 70 BLEURT on FLEURS-ASL and uses MediaPipe Holistic for privacy.
